Choosing the right Firewood for you

Not all firewood is the same.

A Simple Guide to Choosing Firewood

Choosing the right firewood can make a big difference to how much heat you get, how easy your fire is to light, and how efficiently it burns. The best option for you will depend on how you use your fire, how quickly you want heat, and whether you prefer convenience or value.

Hardwood Logs

Best for: Long-lasting heat and efficiency

Hardwood logs are dense and slow-burning, making them ideal for wood burners and open fires where you want steady heat over a longer period.

Due to their dense structure, hardwoods such as oak and ash generate a high heat output and maintain consistent warmth for longer periods. This makes them ideal for extended use and overnight burning.

While hardwood logs can take slightly longer to light and are often priced higher, they offer excellent value thanks to their efficiency and reduced need for frequent refuelling.
